As of early 2026, the International Visitor Levy (IVL) is approx. ₹5,450 (NZD 100) and is mandatory for all tourist visa applicants.
VFS Global service fees in India were updated in January 2026; a standard "Passport Handling Fee" of approx. ₹1,460 applies to online applications.
Indian passport holders are NOT eligible for the NZeTA (visa waiver) unless they have Australian Permanent Residency.
The visa is issued as an eVisa (PDF); no physical sticker is placed in your passport unless specifically requested at a higher cost.
Biometrics may be required at a VFS center; ensure you book an appointment as walk-ins have been restricted since March 2026 in several cities.
Visa fees are non-refundable even if the application is declined.
If staying longer than 6 months, a chest X-ray from a panel physician may be mandatory (costing approx. ₹3,500–₹5,500 extra).
