Important Key Notes

Indian citizens must obtain a visa before travelling; Australia does not offer Visa on Arrival for Indian passport holders.

Biometrics (fingerprints and photo) are mandatory for Indian applicants and must be done at a VFS Global center (approx. ₹2,000–₹2,500 extra).

Australia issues eVisas; you will receive a Grant Notice via email. No sticker is placed in the physical passport.

The "Genuine Temporary Entrant" (GTE) requirement is the most critical; you must prove strong ties to India (job, family, property) to ensure approval.

Medical examinations are usually not required for stays under 3 months unless you are over 75 or visiting a hospital/healthcare setting.

Processing times can spike during the T20/Cricket seasons or year-end holidays. Apply at least 4-6 weeks in advance.

All documents not in English must be accompanied by an accredited English translation.
